Fiberglass Tanks

Under high mechanical stress, fiberglass tanks can maintain its strength and shape. Temperature extremes above boiling point to below freezing point does not deter the resilience of the tank. Water-tight intergrity is critical and provides a safer option for water storage.

Because of the lightweight nature of fiberglass tanks, it is more cost-effective to install and move around, as heavy-lifting equipment is generally not required. This is dependant on the size of the tank of course. However, the same water capacity concrete tank will still outweigh the fiberglass tank.

Fiberglass vs Concrete tanks – concrete tanks are generally much heavier, and more vulnerable to move around, which could add to costly installations. Concrete tanks are prone to corrosion attacks which ultimately require a liner or sealant, adding to the cost of the tank maintenance. Cracks and breakages may reveal the steel framework which is detrimental to the steel lifecycle, especially in environmental extremes.

Fibreglass vs Steel tanks – steel does not stand the test of time compared to the benefits fibreglass tanks can lend. Steel is corrosive and more often than not requires lined coatings to prevent rusting. This also creates a major concern for future maintenance costs.

Abalone Tanks & Bins

Settlement & Grow-Out Tanks

Fiberglass tanks have proven to be an upgrade from the standard cement and canvas tanks used in the old days.

Some of the perks using fiberglass tanks:

  • They are easier to clean than cement tanks. Fungi & bacteria tend to nest in the porousness of the cement surface.
  • Fiberglass tanks perform better than canvas tanks. Canvas does not hold well with wear and tear and becomes expensive to maintain and replace.
  • Easily repair leaks and chips
  • Embedded airlines
  • Fitted drainage holes
  • Can be manufactured to your specifications and needs

Hatchery & Nursery

Fiberglass bins & cones for the hatchery and nursery are convenient to use for the same reasons. Especially in sensitive areas, such as hatcheries. Fiberglass bins are preferred for good general husbandry assistance and can take the punishment of constant use of harsh chemicals.

Manufacturing of broodstock bins, hatching bins, larvae cones, wash trays, weaning trays, and any other tray or bin you might need, according to your specifications.

Olive Tanks

Fibreglass tanks are being used more frequently for pickling and/or fermentation of olives. Olive tanks can be placed underground and maintain ground temperature, which assists with the fermentation process. Due to the nature of the tank composites, it is a safe material to mix in additives as well.

Build olive tanks specified for your needs. Washing bins, separation tanks, pickling tanks, and holding tanks. For more options please give us a call

It has become very easy to grow our own food in our backyard, but it could be more efficient and organised. Especially if space is a bit of an issue.

On a larger scale install growing beds, grow-out tanks, deep water culture troughs and fish tanks. Setups can also include filters and pipework for easy assembly.

We can build a system according to your requirements. It can be as small as you need or as elaborate as you need.
